at this point, it may be a good idea to take the car to a dealer or a shop you trust and get a complete diagnosis of the situation. :head_hurts_kr:

did you purchase it from an individual person or a car dealer? Could you get your money back if you can provide proof that there is something wrong with the vehicle?

Hello I am new to this site and not sure how to post as well.I have been searching online for advice about a vehicle that I have been test driving at my home for last few days before I buy it Its a 94 Ford explorer V6 4 door 4x4 it starts right up with no problems have checked if any oil leaks and none and it shifts into gears just fine as well Then is I live in country and drove yesterday 12 miles into town and when I came to a red light and hit breaks the vehicle shacks back and forth motion.I am not sure what the problem is the only thing saling told me about this vehicle is that it does need a tune up and oil is black in it so does need oil change ect.but what would make it shack like that when I come to a stop my partner doesnt know much and well I am the women of the house that has to find and look for answers and hope someone can help me please I have a baby girl and just want something that is going to last awhile and safe to have my baby in it Oh and miles on this suv is alittle over 158,000 And also when I am driving it I take hands off steering wheel and it wants to always go to same side it doesnt stay straight

Hello and welcome!
first, i'd like to say that the shaking when you come to a stop sounds like a brake pulsation which can be repaired with a brake job, the rotors probably need to be replaced or refinished.

The steering issue is most likely a tire problem or you have something worn out in your steering linkage or suspension .. or maybe it just needs and alignment.

I would suggest having a mechanic look at these concerns before you buy it, maybe you can get the seller to pay for the inspection when the oil is changed, or maybe you can split the cost. :victory:

No, a starter should have no affect on the transmission shift quality. B)
